Responsible for providing staff and strategic leadership, operational and financial control and policy implementation for functions related to the support of Airbus customer airlines in the United States and Canada. In addition to leading the Customer Services team based at Airbus North America headquarters in Herndon, Virginia, oversees: Airbus Training Center in Miami; Airbus Spares Center in Ashburn, Virginia; and the extensive network of Airbus field service personnel based at customer airlines across North America. 2003 – 2004: Consultant, Senior Vice President, Virgin USA Responsible for identifying and evaluating technical and other strategic issues concerning the start up of a new US domestic high quality, low cost airline. 2001 – 2003: President, Air Canada Technical Services Responsible for organizing and operating a subsidiary company of Air Canada. Full profit and loss responsibility within the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) market segment. Annual revenues in excess of $1.2 Billion, more than $300 Million in non-Air Canada work. Workforce of 8,500 people. 2000 – 2001: Senior Vice President, Air Canada 1997 – 2000: Vice President, Air Canada Led the team responsible for maintenance, engineering, purchasing and supply to ensure the safe, airworthy technical operation of Air Canada. Integrated the operations of Canadian Airlines into Air Canada. Continuous improvement of all operational performance measures. Grew fleet size from 160 to over 240 and workforce from 4,300 to 7,000. Maintained budget performance in spite of explosive growth due to acquisition of Canadian Airlines. Airline representative to Air Transport Association, Engineering, Maintenance and Material Council. Served as Chairman, EMMC. 1994 - 1997: Senior Vice President, Maintenance and Engineering, US Airways (interim) Vice President, Aircraft Maintenance, US Airways (previously USAir) Vice President, Heavy Maintenance, USAir Introduced workforce to goal setting and measurement techniques. Spread development of employee involvement and accountability throughout Aircraft Maintenance. Substantially improved trust between union and management. Reduced headcount and budget but improved operational performance of aircraft, including passenger preference items. Conducted monthly performance reviews to gain ownership in sub-groups. Initiated union endorsed Self Directed Teams to provide employee input and accountability. Airline representative to Air Transport Association, Engineering, Maintenance and Material Council (ATA, EMMC). Retired USAF Colonel (1988)24 years service.
